tell us a bit about yourself
I am a nineteen year old artist and musician from Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada. I began drawing cartoons at a very young age, specifically "Looney Tunes" characters; since then, my love for art just keeps growing. I would describe myself as a free spirit, and wish to continue into a teaching career that allows me to travel the world, creating art in my spare time in the future. Today, my drawings focus more on the realistic side, as my paintings vary in styles. I am currently in my second year of University at Brock University, with my studies being centered around the Visual Arts.
What inspires you?
Staying true to myself, and sticking to what I believe in that defines me the most as an artist, and human being.
Currently, my drawings on paper are usually either made from pencil, charcoal, pastels, conte, or pencil crayon, etc. My paintings are usually painted on a hand made canvas, consisting of either acrylic paint, watercolour paint, oil paint, sparkly mediums, ink, clay, and natural items. I find myself using new mediums and new ideas each and every time I begin another artwork. The ideas keep growing with time.
The method behind the madness
My hobbies include Singing, playing piano, guitar, ukulele, harmonica, accordion, travelling, playing soccer, being a paranormal enthusiast, photography, hiking, camping, collecting cassettes and records, working on cars, and baking.
I remember the first painting I ever sold. I was so proud of myself since I must have been at least 9 or 10, and I put on a yard sale. As soon as I put my little "Sonic the Hedge Hog" painting out, a lady came up to m e and asked how much it was. I was young at the time and thought $2 was a lot, so I asked her for $2 for the painting. Yet, once I said that, she gave me $5 and I felt rich. Since then, I thought I could get better and better, and here I am now attending an art university.
