Tell us a bit about yourself
I have been making art since 1980 when I first entered two classes at Ontario College of Art as it was known then. I studied art part time while my children were small graduating in 1996 with honours AOCA in fine art.
What inspires you?
The beauty of the world inspires me.
The method behind the madness
I work in encaustic, a hot wax medium and I love to make large abstracts on canvas, mostly 4x5 feet. This work involves mixing colours and laying down layers of wax, scraping, gouging, until I am satisfied.
We'd love to get to know a bit more about you
I am a musician, teaching piano and violin in my neighbourhood.
Tell us a story
When I was in class one day at OCA, someone came in and bought a large painting from me. It was a 6x6 foot painting of two elephants. I helped them hang the work in their home and I can actually drive by and see the work from the street!
